Nancy O'Dell's initial position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reports in Charleston about the police's leniency regarding DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's work in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor. Alongside her role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and in addition for Dateline NBC. The anchor has hosted a number of Pre-ShowArrivals programs to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
