Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators for The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award award-winning talk show), returned to host The Talk on August 5th for its 22nd edition. Her real passion came when she began writing and received an Emmy. She also won an Emmy for hosting as well as an outstanding comedy talk show. The show was hosted by her co-hosts CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 until 2010. She was the anchor for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour of news during the early hours of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the war in Iraq, among other major news stories on The Early Show. Chen Moonves was tasked with reporting from Cairo in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. She went down and talked to the father who commanded hijackers for an eye-opening and fascinating interview. Chen Moonves is a journalist who has worked with newsmakers such as former New York City City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Queen Rania, the former defense secretary William Cohen and Denzel Washington. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter who has featured stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton located in Dayton, the state of Ohio (1995-1997). While completing her last year of University, she served as an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and was the producer of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). Her first position in broadcasting was working as a desk assistant for ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalism heroes. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel in the production of the award-winning Columbia du-Pont program Anatomy of a Riot which focused on the Los Angeles riots of '92.
